Weekend Adventure Packages
Our weekend packages at WildWays in Christina
Lake, BC feature biking and kayaking
in some of the most spectacular recreational areas
of this Province. Our kayaking is on the
warmest tree-lined lake in Canada and its'
tributary Christina Creek, while our biking trips are based
on the scenic Kettle Valley Railway, the
choicest part of the Trans Canada Trail. We also offer "Women
Only" weekends where all activities are designed with
a woman's needs in mind. It's a great combination of "Adventure
by day, Comfort by night".
Our accommodations at Christina Lake feature clean, modern
Queen & King rooms and cottages with ensuite facilities,
all close to the Lake. Breakfast, brunch and evening
meals
are shared in several of our local restaurants, which offer
delicious and varied cuisine. Our weekend tours are small
with no more than twelve people. Most activities are close
by and shuttle service is provided as part of our packages.
If you'd like to book a shuttle at another time, please
call or e-mail us at info@wildways.com. As always,
our guides are top notch and trained in all aspects
of
safety
and
personal
attention. |

| Day One (Fri): Arrive at Christina Lake
(evening)
Plan to arrive at Christina Lake for our evening orientation
time after dinner. We will meet at our retail outlet and
tour centre, located on Highway 3. Enjoy complimentary beverages
while we go over the weekend and begin the adventure.
Day Two (Sat):
Biking The Kettle Valley Railway to Cascade Gorge
After breakfast, we head to the old town site of Eholt in
the cool of the morning and begin biking with a slow descent
toward Grand Forks, BC with its unique Russian heritage.
We’ll stop for lunch at the Station Pub, a restored
CPR Train Station featuring excellent cuisine.
After lunch, a gentle ride along the banks of the beautiful
Kettle River will take us back to Christina Lake. The new
trail surface here is the smoothest in the province, and
the elevation is almost flat, making it perfect for a day
of riding.

Just before the end of the ride, we'll stop at Cascade Gorge
where the scenery is simply spectacular. A short trail walk
will take us to Rainbow Rock for the best view of The Falls.
Here you'll definitely want to bring your camera! A long
gentle descent into Christina Lake is the perfect ending
for this memorable day of activities.
The day unwinds with a lakeside dinner of locally produced
artisan foods and a campfire on the
beach.
Our women's only tours feature a range of optional spa treatments in the evening.

Day Three (Sun):
Today we'll start the day a little later, with
a superb brunch at Jimmy Beans Bistro.
The food is mouth watering and there's lots of it, with
continual steaming cups of coffee and Lattes to enjoy.
The day is set for something completely different;
a little kayaking anyone? We will begin by some easy paddling
on Christina Lake in our user-friendly kayaks. This is something
everyone but the very youngest child can do, and we will
teach you all you need to know to enjoy this fastest-growing
water sport. We then will venture down Christina Creek,
a beautiful meandering stream with wild iris, sunturtles
and lots of waterfowl. It is a magical place, a world apart
from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. No previous
kayaking experience needed, and we supply all the gear.
We return to our accommodations tired but
fulfilled, having tasted some of the best forms of recreation
there are. As we unwind by the fireside or stroll along
the lakeshore, we know that this has been a very different
kind of weekend, one which we'll never forget. After a final feast, its time to pack up and say Good-Bye,
with a few new muscles we've become aware of on our bodies
, and some great stories to tell at the office.
And we wonder while driving home, why don't we do something like this every weekend?
